SYMPOSIUM
November 20–21, 2025
Join us for the CytoData Symposium and Hackathon, a premier event bringing together researchers interested in image-based profiling of biological phenotypes. This symposium explores the power of microscopy imaging as a data-rich resource for quantifying cellular phenotypes, with a strong focus on high-content imaging techniques such as Cell Painting and their applications in drug discovery and basic cell biology.
Topics:
Beyond 2D: New dimensions and cell models: This session will focus on advancing high-content imaging beyond traditional 2D cell culture through the use of advanced cellular models such as organoids and spheroids. We will also highlight advances in brightfield and time-lapse imaging, which offer new opportunities to study dynamic cellular processes.
Tools, datasets and assay development: Reliable image-based profiling depends on the availability of high-quality datasets, well-designed assays, and adaptable computational tools. This session will cover recent developments in assay design, data standardization, and software infrastructure that support reproducible and large-scale phenotypic screening.
Image and data analysis: Extracting insights from high-dimensional image data requires sophisticated analysis methods. This session will showcase novel image processing techniques, machine learning approaches, and quantitative analysis strategies that are driving progress in the interpretation of complex imaging datasets.
Application of image-based profiling: This session will feature real-world applications and success stories showcasing how image-based profiling is being used across diverse research areas such as drug discovery and cell biology. Presentations will highlight how these methods are generating actionable biological insights across a range of experimental systems.
Whether you’re developing tools, analyzing data or applying these methods in the lab, CytoData 2025 in Berlin is the place to connect and learn.
